So Glad You’re Here!

Hey! I honestly cannot express how excited I am to be working with you! Before we get started, I recommend bookmarking this page in case you ever have questions about the process. If you need to get ahold of me with any additional questions you don’t see addressed here, you can email me at nenasternerphoto@yahoo.com

How To Submit Your Photos Using Smart Previews

  1. Import your images into Lightroom. Select all of them, and then go to File>Export As Catalog

  2. Make sure the following boxes are selected:

3. Name the file something like “Ashley + Joseph wedding (208)” or “Smith wedding (1400)”, indicating the name of the client and the number of images included in the catalog so we can easily keep track of each shoot

4. Save the catalog to the desktop or somewhere where you can find it easily

5. After you’ve exported, open the folder and confirm that there are 3 files inside (there should be a .lrcat file and two additional folders)

6. Submit the folder to the dropbox folder you were given access to. Do not compress the folder before submitting. Send me a text once the folder has been uploaded

Next Steps

Once I have your catalog, I will be editing the “smart previews”, which are compressed versions of your photos. This saves room on my hard drive and also speeds up the editing process, but it is imperative that you keep the hi-res versions saved in your Lightroom. After I’ve made the edits, I’ll be returning an updated catalog to you containing all the changes I’ve made.

How To Import Your Edited Catalog

  1. Download the catalog from your Dropbox folder

  2. Open Lightroom and locate the hi-res files

  3. Go to File>Import from another catalog

  4. Select the new catalog

  5. Select “Replace metadata and develop settings only” from the dropdown menu.

  6. The edits I made on the smart previews will be transferred to your hi-res versions of the images.

I will be sending you an invoice via email as soon as I receive your catalog, and payment is due upfront. I try to keep my turnaround time between 5-7 days, but during certain peak times of the year it may be closer to 2 weeks. Photos will not be delivered until invoice has been paid in full.

That’s it! :)
