Kensington & Normal Heights With Tyler | San Diego Cinematic Portraits

Nothing makes me happier than when someone approaches me wanting to do some creative portraits. As much as I enjoy photographing engagements, senior portraits, weddings, etc. I don’t always get to flex my creative muscles if that’s not what my clients are looking for. So, I was thrilled that Tyler wanted to do some cinematic portraits.

Hey, it makes sense. He’s a film guy. He works at San Diego’s most beloved independent movie theater, and he’s an expert on just about all things film-related. So, naturally, it was fitting that his photos should feel like stills from an indie film.

Before the big reveal, I’d like to share the very kind Google review Tyler left me:

” As a guy it can be scary and uncomfortable to ask for a photo shoot but that fear very quickly went away once I met Nena. It helps a lot how she’s so easy-going, patient, funny and very dedicated to getting you what you’re looking for! Her focus towards bringing forth your best and most authentic self is simply astounding and I don’t think I could have asked for a better person to make me feel like I deserved to have my picture taken by a professional photographer!

My face hurt from smiling so much when she showed me the finished pictures. I can’t stress this enough; Nena’s work is incredible and so is she! “

As always, I am eternally grateful to Tyler and every person who trusts me with their portrait sessions! Thank you all so much for being so wonderful.
