Dog Boudoir, or Surprise Engagement? | Couples Photographer San Diego

Dog boudoir, or surprise engagement? The answer is: both.

I’d done some professional headshots a few months ago for Josh’s kickstarter, Math Cards (which, by the way, is a super good idea that’s going to help a lot of kids learn math and you should totally check it out).

He mentioned to me when I was doing his headshots that he wanted to propose to his girlfriend sometime in the near future, but he wasn’t sure how he was going to pop the question just yet.

He jokingly suggested that we do a boudoir shoot for his dog, and we had a good long laugh about it… but then when he reached out to me a couple months later to tell me he had bought the ring I realized that whole dog boudoir thing wasn’t a joke.

And I’m so glad it wasn’t.

Josh told Monique that I’d be coming over to their apartment so I could take some sexy photos of their dog, and she was all for it. She even had her aunt sew a couple sexy bikinis for her! 😂

So, I started snapping away, and after we’d taken a convincing amount of photos, Josh suggested taking a family photo. Then, once they were both in front of the camera, he got down on one knee and popped the question.
