A Picnic With Bekah | San Diego Outdoor Boudoir Photographer

Being a San Diego boudoir photographer (and wedding photographer), I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know some great people in the wedding industry, including Bekah, a good friend and owner of Winsome Bridal Boutique.

When Bekah expressed an interest in doing a boudoir shoot with me, I knew we were in for a great time. It’s always a sweet feeling whenever any woman trusts me enough to be her boudoir photographer, but it’s even sweeter when a friend puts that kind of trust in your hands. I mean, not everyone would feel comfortable getting undressed in front of someone they know and see on a regular basis, but Bekah’s the kind of gal who’s always down to get a little weird, and I love that about her!

What started out as a picnic-themed shoot organically developed into something more; as I was editing the images, it felt like I was editing two completely different shoots, so it seemed appropriate to divide this post into two parts.

Although her photos speak for themselves, I thought I’d share some of Bekah’s words regarding her experience throughout this post.

Part One : The Picnic

“I grew up being very insecure and hating the body I was in, like many people in this world. After years of self- care, I was able to fall in love with the body I have, and I wanted to do a boudoir shoot to showcase the confidence and love I have for myself.”

“Nena was great! She posed me in a way that made me feel like a professional. I was nervous at the beginning of the shoot, but Nena made me feel comfortable in front of the camera and helped me through the process. She never made me feel awkward and continued to encourage me throughout the shoot. Though I started off a bit shy, by the end I was feeling all the self-love for my body and loved every second.”

Part Two : The After Party

“I LOVED the feeling of confidence I gained throughout the shoot! I would encourage all women to do a boudoir shoot! It’s so empowering and makes you feel so beautiful!”
